It was named Al-rashad as a symbol of guidance to the role that the school plays in the students’ lives all through the journey of learning. In the scholastic year 2012 -2013 the school started teaching the British curriculum. The school achieved the academic accreditation in the year 2013 -2014. In the scholastic year 2014 -2015 , the school achieved five certificates of honor in the English International Beach Mark Test all over the British school located in the Middle East.
